OUR MANAGER

Dale Belvedere

our manager

Dale attended her first raptor release in 2006, and immediately realized that she wanted to help and support SORCO. She officially became a volunteer in 2008 assisting with the rescue, rehab, and release of raptors, and as a handler for our resident Great Horned Owl Houdini at public events.

In 2012, she joined the SORCO site committee and was instrumental in engaging the Penticton Okanagan College, and obtaining many other donations toward the construction of the new state of the art clinic. Dale was nominated to the Board in 2013 and served as the chair for the funding and events committees and the volunteer coordinator.

Dale was appointed as the full time manager of SORCO in 2015. She has developed and implemented new policies and procedures to ensure the birds receive the highest quality of care, and efforts continue to ensure the facilities and equipment are of the latest and highest standard.

In 2016 she established a laboratory standards rat breeding program
to ensure the birds receive a balanced and nutritional diet. She has a strong medical and management background in health care and has completed numerous wildlife rehabilitation training courses.

Dale is well known in the community for her dedication, compassion and commitment to SORCO and the successful fulfillment of its mission.
